Time to Fill Up
As a youth worker, you have been pouring into your students. Who is pouring into you? Before your glass becomes completely empty, stop and find ways to fill back up.

As you you came out of the summer, and had some time off, took a break, got refueled and rested, you probably came into youth group feeling like, "Hey, you know what? I'm full. I'm ready to go. I'm energized." After the first couple of weeks you started realizing that you had begun pouring into your students. That worked. First couple weeks, you're like, "Okay, I've still got some left. I know what I'm doing." But the next week you poured more into them. The following week you poured more into them, until at some point you get to the point that you realize that you've poured out a lot. In fact, you have poured out probably more than you realized. Now you don't really have anything left to pour out.
My question to you as a leader is who is pouring into you. You're pouring into your students. You're investing your time and energy into them. Who is pouring into you? Some of you say, "Well my pastor doesn't have time," or "I can't find a mentor," or whatever. Listen, you can find a book. You can watch some videos online. You can engage in just some walks in nature. Find places that have art galleries. Find something that literally helps remind you not only who God is through his Word, but other places where you understand that other people around you have the opportunity to pour into you. You have been pouring into your students. They are going to pour into other people. They need you to continue pouring into them.
But here's the truth. If you have nothing left, if you have literally drained the cup, there's not a drop left in there, what are they going to get from you if you have not taken the time and been consistent and disciplined about pouring and making sure that you are full? They need you to take care of yourself. They need you to continue to grow spiritually. They need you to be full when you come to group so that you can pour into them.
